Wings Of War: Runway Raid
Launch a long-range raid over enemy territory to destroy an airstrip, or command the desparate defense.
Many landing fields in WW1 were just that - fields, often parcels of waste ground that did not lend themselves to any other agricultural or military uses. Others were at least somewhat improved and concentrated fuel supplies and repair facilities for nearby squadrons. As the front stabilized and both sides forward-deployed airstrips, these valuable assets became easier to locate and attack. Occasionally, one would be caught with most of its air wing unavailable for defense.
The scenario begins as the attacking aircraft are detected and the defending fighter planes taxi to intercept.
This scenario will use custom rules for bombs and bombers. Note that the scenario is subject to change before the convention. Scenario details
